Coal Race 2023 - Report
Padfield Resident's Society (PRS) recently staged a successful Redgate Coal Race, attracting the largest number of runners and visitors in recent years.
Someone was definitely looking down on us and the weather held off, in fact, the day was warm and sunny and not as forecast much to our relief.
Competition was friendly but serious as there were the lovely trophies to play for and the kids received a toy and medal for taking part. The raffle was as popular as ever and there was a stall selling drinks and sweets.

This great community event can only be staged if supported by the village in both attending and helping organise beforehand and on the day.
