Welcome to the summer newsletter.
I hope you have all managed to enjoy the bit of summer weather we have had, lets hope there is more to come.
There is always lots going on in a village like Padfield, I have included details of all the events inside.
On a more serious note, there are plans to erect a telecommunications tower on land adjacent to Padfield Main Road.
Please see Ollie’s Update below for more details on the plans and how to have your say.

Have Your Say
Icon Tower Infrastructure Ltd have recently submitted a planning application to the Peak District National Park Authority to install a 25m telecoms mast with associated telecoms cabinets, antennas, headframes and transmission link dishes on land adjacent to Padfield Main Road (to the rear of Padfield Lodge).
Whilst I recognise there is a need to improve digital infrastructure with inadequate broadband access and mobile phone signal an ongoing issue in parts of the High Peak and wider Peak District. The proposed location of the mast within the boundaries of the Peak District National Park is undoubtedly controversial and there are serious concerns about the suitability of the proposed site.
The main concerns centre around the visual impact to local residents in Padfield & Hadfield, ground conditions as the land is often water logged & is subject to adjacent reservoir leaks, and upheaval during construction with concerns around access to provide materials for the site, the installation of an electricity supply, fibre for communications etc.
As the proposed site lays within the boundaries of the Peak District National Park, the planning application submitted by Icon Tower Infrastructure Ltd is set to be determined by the Peak District National Park Planning Committee. The target date for determination is Wednesday 17th July 2024.
The public consultation period has been extended and the case officer will accept additional comments over the next few days so I would encourage as many local residents as possible to submit their views on the proposal.
Folk can do this by email to: [email protected]
The planning application number is as follows: NP/GDO/0424/0392.
Details can be found on the Peak District National Park Planning Portal (https://portal.peakdistrict.gov.uk/04240392).
Alternatively, you can email: customer.service@peakdistrict.gov.uk
If you have any queries regarding this planning application or wish to discuss any other local issue then please don't hesitate to contact me via email: [email protected], or alternatively, you're most welcome to give me a bell on 07813969399.
