Welcome to Padfield Village

STOP PRESS

After years of hard work, Padfield Community Spaces is delighted to announce that it has successfully purchased Temple Street field on behalf of the local community and future generations!

The village of Padfield lies on the fringe of the Peak District National Park in the High Peak District of North Derbyshire. It was once a mill village with signs of a bygone era still visible today, however, most of the industrial past has long since gone. The current facade is one of a village community with its many stone terrace cottages, allotments, Independent Chapel, Community Primary School and the only village public house, the Peels Arms pub.

Much of the village is part of a conservation area, which helps to maintain the natural beauty and local wildlife of the village so it can be  enjoyed by both locals and visitors. Padfield is edged by beautiful countryside with easy access to the Longdendale Trail, a former railway line now used for walkers and cyclists alike, nestled in the stunning Longdendale Valley and the six reservoir chain that, when built, was the largest artificial expanse of water in the world.

Our Aims

Our aims are important to ensure the website continues to fulfil it's role of being an adaptable, informational resource for both locals and visitors alike. These have been laid out to:
  • Provide information pertinent to the village community, conveyed in an honest and open manner;
  • Ensure such information is clear, apolitical and constructive in nature, serving it's intended purpose;
  • Work closely with members of the  Residents' Society and adhere to the aims as governed in the Constitution;
  • Listen to (and act upon where necessary) the questions, comments or concerns of any villager, brought to our attention via the website's contact us page;
  • Promote the best interests of the village at all times.
