Elected representatives

There can be five layers of Elected Representative covering our village but as we do not have a Parish council there are only four.

Members of Parliament (MPs)
MPs decide what the laws of the country should be, agree taxes and public spending plans and also keep the actions of the Government under review.
Area: High Peak
MP:  Robert Largan
Party: Conservative

Members of the European Parliament (MEPs)
MEPs have an increasing role in deciding what the laws of the European Union should be and also keep the actions of the European Commission and other Europe-wide bodies under review.
Area: East Midlands
MEP: there are 5 MEPs that represent us in the European Parliament.

County Councillors
Derbyshire County Council is the authority for Education, Social Services and Highways for the area. www.derbyshire.gov.uk
Area: Glossop & Charlesworth
Serving the communities of Glossop, Chisworth, Charlesworth, Hadfield and Padfield.
