Welcome to our community
Padfield is a small to medium-sized village in a quiet corner on the fringe of the Peak District National Park.
The village has a thriving community life. Neighbours wave and bid us good day; dog-walkers give a smile and a nod as they pass by and the daily activities of village residents continue, be it chatting, gardening or walking to the shops in Hadfield. On a beautiful sunny day, with local wildlife abundant and the peace and tranquility the village residents enjoy, it comes as no surprise people enjoy living here. In all seasons, Padfield is a great place to live.
Events and activities
Throughout the year the village entertains several annual events, seasonal activities and holds regular groups. These range from the famous Coal Race, which is always a community favourite, to the Tuesday Club, a great way to chat with and meet other Padfielders. Some events, however, are not held annually, but bi-annually instead, such as the Padfield Impromptu.

Serving the community
Padfield has a wonderful and perfectly-sized community chapel. It is used regularly for worship (with both communion services and Sunday school) and the chapel hall is a hub where groups can meet and where various village events are held throughout the year. Also in the village is the Padfield Community Primary School, open between 8:50am and 3:15pm, Monday to Friday, and is located on Rhodes Street where learning excellence for the younger generation is provided by a team of dedicated staff.
The Padfield Residents' Society meets on the 2nd Monday of every month at 8pm in the Community Chapel. It is a great way to meet other Padfielders and, should the mood take you, join in with the meetings to find out is happening in the village and maybe have a drink and chat afterwards. Anyone from the village is welcome; we would like to see you there if you can make it. Head on over to the Residents' Society page for further details about the next meeting, learning about what has been discussed in previous meetings and discover what is in the constitution.
The Padfield Newsletter is circulated every three months to the residents of the village. It provides information about upcoming events and competitions, as well as important villages notices. If you have something to go in the newsletter just contact Steph Brammer and we’ll try and find a space for it.
