Padfield has a long and rich history that pre-dates the Howard family (Dukes of Norfolk) and the industrial backdrop that has become synonymous with cotton spinning and production in the local area. Here is a collection of photographic images of Padfield from its industrial past to more recent times when the cotton industry was in decline. Much of the modern history of Padfield can be seen in the form of the various mills and stone cottages that have played such a vital part of the village's history and growth throughout this industrial period.
