Welcome to the Ocober, November and December edition of the Padfield News.
Welcome to the last newsletter of the year, we hope you have all had a lovely summer.
It was lovely to see so many people come out for the Coal Race, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did and congratulations to the winners, James Fishlock, Georgia Teakle-Knock and Merlin Walcott.
Also thank you to everyone who made their gardens look lovely, judging the garden competition was a pleasure and a very tough choice, there were so many good contenders. Once again congratulations to the winners, 21 Lees Row and 151 Padfield Main Road and runners up, 129 Platt Street and 6 Jackson Street. Well done all.
I know it is still early, but Christmas is coming, and plans are already underway for the village Christmas events, details are inside together with a handy pull-out guide for you to keep. We do we hope you will keep the dates free and join us for the festive season.

Roughfields Asset of Community Value Application Successful
Nearby Roughfields has recently been registered as an Asset of Community Value by High Peak Borough Council. I'm grateful to everyone who contributed to the application. It's no exaggeration to say that countless hours of hard work have been put into the application by local residents.
I was happy to provide a statement of support and have acted as a liaison between High Peak Borough Council and the Save Roughfields Committee over the past couple of years so I know first-hand how much has gone into this and what it means to folk.
I'll be upfront: whilst this is a welcome move, it doesn't automatically prevent the future development of Roughfields. However, it's still a significant boost to the campaign and provides important recognition of how deeply Roughfields is valued and cherished by our local community.
It also shows what we can achieve when we work together as we aim to achieve our goal of saving this much community green space for generations to come.
New PCSO on the beat
PCSO Charlotte Catchpole is our new local PCSO for Padfield, Hadfield and Tintwistle.
It was lovely to meet up and go on a walkabout with PCSO Catchpole around Padfield Ward late last month.
I raised a number of ongoing issues locally and we spoke at length about community life here in Padfield. As well as the various community groups that carry out fantastic work in our village.
It was brilliant to hear PCSO Catchpole's enthusiasm to help tackle issues affecting our local community and to get stuck in with community life. I'm looking forward to working with her going forward.
