Santa comes to Padfield
Once again Father Christmas will be dropping off a small present to young Padfielders. It's free of charge and Santa will make his rounds on Tuesday 22 December about 6pm to 7:30pm.
If you received a present last year do nothing - you'll be our list. If you're new to the village and have a child of primary school age or younger, phone Janis on 861542 and make sure Santa stops at your house!

The Peels Christmas Lunch
The 2015 Christmas lunch, a gift from the Peels Arms and the Residents' Society, took place on 7 December and was open to all village residents over the age of 65 years.
The Residents' Society helped by providing transportation for those who could not make the trip to the pub on their own. Also, meals were sent out to those who were housebound, unable to enjoy the Christmas meal in the very Christmassy surroundings of the pub. A big thank you to everyone involved in supporting our elderly residents.

Long to reign over us!To mark Queen Elizabeth's milestone of being our longest ever reigning monarch the Residents' Society commissioned a mug for the village's youngsters. We're going to wrap this up with some goodies and send them to the North Pole for Father Christmas to give out when he visit Padfield on 22 December.

The Coal Race is back, 2015
After a year’s absence, Padfield’s premier sporting contest returned Sunday 13 September and was a great success. The challenge: running UP Redgate with a bag of coal. Easy you may think......well, think again!
This challenge is not for the faint-hearted.
Twelve runners took part in the coal race including three women and around 60 spectators cheered them on. The race was run in four heats. A bottle of beer for each runner was donated by Howard Town Brewery and Pearson Fuels donated the bags of coal (25kg for the men, 10kg for the women). Dan Brockington once again took the honours.
Well done to all involved. Our thanks go to Rachel Adderley, Dominic Bradbury, Eric Bradbury, Robin Barker, Des Gibbons, Nicole Redican, Emma Swan and Stuart Swan. Apologies to anyone else who we should have mentioned. Thanks to all who assisted, supported and especially to all those who took part.
See below for 2015's results and image gallery.

Young villager of the year
Please let us have your nominations for Young Padfielder of the Year. The award is for the young villager who has made her or his mark helping others during 2015. We want to encourage youngsters to help others and the judges will be looking to recognise a young person who has contributed to our wider community in some way.
Do you know someone who has helped a neighbour with shopping or gardening? Maybe you know someone who has overcome problems or been an inspiration to others? Someone who has helped support older people or gone out of their way to help others? If so, let us know - contact Janis via the contact us page to make your nomination.

Padfield Spring Clean
On 19 April 2015, a group of volunteers ventured out into the grey, spring Padfield air to help keep our village clean and tidy. After the good deed was done there were a surprising 16 bags of rubbish collected, along with a sofa and various other bits thrown in. It's amazing what you can find and what people are willing to discard by the roadside.
Let's keep our village beautiful by keeping it clean!
Here's a big thank you to the 17 volunteers that helped to collect the rubbish and keep our village tidy. The volunteers collected 16 bags in total along with a sofa and various other bits thrown in!
